"It is my strongest conviction that the voice is a palette, where even the smallest and most subtle change in intonation possesses the power to change the tone and overall impression of a spoken piece, even if that be subconsciously."
When I graduated from Loughborough University with a 1st class degree in English, I decided to combine my love of words alongside 8 years of acting experience to create Stylish Voice, where I am now able to serve clients nationally and internationally. My acting background has inevitably led to me being accustomed to constant improvisation: an essential ingredient when meeting the unique and varied requirements of the customer. It is due to the combination of studying English and performing that I am able to gauge the natural pace, tones, and implications of any spoken piece, as well as imbuing it with the appropriate level of energy.
I'm now also a certified Trinity CertTESOL teacher. My love for the English language doesn't just materialize in me getting to bring words to life for voiceover clients all over the world, but now sees me teaching children and adults English as a second language.
My strengths as a voice artist are intimately tied in with my experience as a performer overall. Having begun amateur dramatics in my hometown, I later travelled to the Derby Academy of Acting before being accepted into the renowned Television Workshop, based in Nottingham, where I performed for 2 years. I have performed in university plays both at home and abroad, and have taken part in workshops at RADA and the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Further voice experience includes performing as a spoken-word poet, reading at an elderly home, setting up a reading group for children, and the hours I spend teaching!
